Southern Railways announced diversion and partial cancellation of trains, especially those passing through coastal districts.

Due to severe cyclonic weather, heavy rainfall and wind along the coastal districts, the following trains leaving on 31.10.2012 will be diverted via. chord line from Villupuram, viz. Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Tiruchchirappalli.

2)T.No.16736 Tiruchendur – Chennai Egmore Chendur Express
3)T.No.16702 Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Express
4)T.No.16701 Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram Express
5)T.No.16179/16180 Chennai Egmore – Mannargudi – Chennai Egmore Mannai Expresses will be diverted via. Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur and Nidamangalam.
6)T.No.16175/16176 Chennai Egmore – Karaikal – Chennai Egmore Expresses will be diverted via. Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Nidamangalam and Tiruvarur.
T.No.56877/56878 Villupuram – Mayiladuthurai – Villupuram Passengers are fully cancelled on 31.10.2012.
T.No.56514 Bangalore City – Nagore Passenger has been partially cancelled between Vriddhachalam – Nagore on 31.10.2012 and T.No.56513 Nagore – Bangalore City Passenger has been partially cancelled between Nagore – Vriddhachalam on 1.11.2012.
