CM Jayalalithaa today announced new menu in "Sathunavu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today(2Nov,2012) announced a totally new menu in the nutritious noon meal scheme which is being implemented in government-run schools all over the State.

As per the decision, during the first and third weeks of a month, vegetable biriyani and egg pepper masala would be given on Mondays to children under the nutritious noon meal scheme, peas pulav and egg tomato masala would be given on Tuesdays, tomato rice and egg pepper masala  on Wednesdays, rice, sambar and boiled egg on Thursdays and curry leaf rice or rice with greens, egg masala and potato fry on Fridays.

During the second and fourth weeks of a month, sambar rice, onion-tomato egg masala would be given on Mondays, meal-maker vegetable mixed rice and egg pepper fry on Tuesdays, tamarind rice and tomato egg masala on Wednesdays, lemon rice, tomato egg masala and sundal on Thursdays and rice, sambar, boiled egg and potato curry on Fridays.

The Chief Minister said new food items would be introduced to the menu of anganwadis as well.

Tomato rice and boiled egg would be given on Mondays, mixed rice and sundal on Tuesdays, vegetable pulav and boiled egg on Wednesdays, lemon rice and boiled egg on Thursdays and dhal rice and potato on Fridays and mixed rice on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Chief Minister said"The scheme will initially be introduced in one region of each district. Following the feedback, it will be extended to other places".
