Vodafone launches Sakhi scheme exclusively for women

For all its women customers, Vodafone India has launched a Sakhi pack on Friday. In this new pack, users can conveniently get their mobile phones recharged without wanting to share their mobile phone numbers to retailers.

In select areas, a pilot test of the scheme was run by Vodafone India. This received a phenomenal response after which Vodafone has now decided to come up with the plan across nation.

In 2014, according to a Vodafone estimate, there were over 300 million lesser women who used mobile phones as compared to men. According to Vodafone, this gender gap is huge in emerging economies. This stops women from getting the maximum benefits of mobile services.

Below is the guideline on Sakhi pack usage

To get this Vodafone Private Recharge option, users should send SMS as Private to 12604. This is a toll free number.

Users can then make private recharge using OTP code without wanting to share their mobile number. Once the OTP is received, users can recharge for the next 24 hours.

With the Sakhi scheme, users get connectivity within just 10 minutes of making calls even without balance on their SIM card.
