On Wednesday evening, the Narendra Modi led government gave approval for a 15 percent hike in salary for CPEC employees.
The cabinet gave its approval to implement 3rd pay commission recommendation for central public sector enterprises, said an official.
The commission had earlier proposed for the 15 percent hike. This is the lowest hike till now, and got to effect starting from 1st January 2017. The earlier hike was of 37.2 percent made during the previous commission which took place in 2007. The very first commission had made a 24 percent and 30 percent hike.
Recently, the cabinet led by PM Modi approved the revised allowance as per the 7th pay commission for central government employees following a huge delay.
At the cabinet meeting, a major decision about the sale of stake in HPCL was made. The CCEA had agreed to sell out 51.11 percent of government stake in Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd to ONGC, the largest oil producer in India.
