Anna University has announced that 6 centres will be set up for writing the entrance exam for B. Arch Course.
Until the last year, a pass in the NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) was required to participate in the counselling for B. Arch course offered by all government colleges.
Even in private colleges, the candidates were invited for counselling based on the marks scored in this entrance examination and +2 public examination.
However, as some changes were made in the NATA format this year, the number of participants writing NATA had reduced and then, the number of candidates who passed in this NATA was also very less.
This has led to a situation with the prospects of more than 50% of the available seats for B. Arch course remaining unfilled.
The state government of Tamil Nadu took the decision to conduct another entrance examination on its behalf for B. Arch Course on 12th August. The online application process for this started on 24th July and will close on 31st July.
Anna University is conducting this test on behalf of the Tamil Nadu state government. The rules and regulations for this test have been uploaded on the official website of Anna University. The details such as the syllabus, the marking system, and the rules for the drawing skill test are available in this release.
Further, 6 centres will be set up for this Tamil Nadu NATA in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Tirunelveli, and Salem.
The results of the test will be released on 18th August.
