Filing IT returns - Special arrangements on holidays as well

The Income Tax department has made some special arrangement to facilitate the filing of Income Tax returns even on Saturdays and Sundays.
31st July is the last date for filing Income Tax returns for the financial year 2017-18 for the monthly salaried cadre who pay income tax under specific sections of IT Act.
Though the facility is available to file IT return online, the facility to file IT returns through filled up forms and papers is provided for the cadre who earn an annual income of less than Rs. 5 Lakhs and those who do not seek refunds.
For the benefit of those who are directly filing IT returns, the IT office services at the BSNL building complex in Chennai Greams Road (Aayaka Seva Kendra) and the IT Office service at Tambaram will remain open on 29th and 30th July (Saturday and Sunday) from 9.15 AM to 5.45 PM.
The tax paying public is requested to avail this facility to file their IT returns.
