Today (31st July) last day to file Income Tax returns

The Income Tax Department has categorically declared that today (Monday, 31st July) is the last day to file the Income Tax returns for the financial year 2017-18.
IT department has further announced that there is absolutely no chance for any extension of dates for the filing of IT returns.
It has been announced that those who have not filed their IT returns till now may approach the IT Service Centres and complete the same.
So, the taxpaying public has to file their IT returns before the end of the day (31st July) whether filing online on the IT dept website or directly in the IT offices.
It is a point of interest that the IT offices were functioning on Sunday yesterday to facilitate the filing of IT returns. Special counters were kept open. There were large sections of people who filed their returns on Sunday.
