Making an important change in its domestic route network strategy, Jet Airways will be having its focus on giving direct connectivity to cities belonging to tier-2. It will be penetrating into such markets in deep.
Having got more than 18 percent market share, Naresh Goyal’s Jet Airways Group is now among severe competition from all the other low cost carriers all of which hold above 70 percent of the total domestic traffic.
This has cornered the Mumbai-based full service carrier to launch its services to station-to-station flights from the station-to-hub services.
This is not just about station and hub connectivity. There is a lot more about connectivity among stations as well. Here is where real network penetration and footprints are to take place, says Praveen Iyer. The vice president, Commercial, for sales in India.
Making one of its move towards the new strategy, Jet Airways will be providing connectivity with tier-2 city directly to another, and from here to the other metros and later on to the hubs, he added.
As a network carrier, Jet airways will keep improving its connectivity at best fares, he said.
