The facility to pay Income Tax anywhere throughout the country will be implemented from 1st October. In the 1st Phase of this plan, 100 cities in the country will be linked.
In the present system, the taxpayer can pay Income Tax only in their resident states. This restriction posed some hardships for various taxpayers.
As a solution to prevent the above hardships, the Department of Income Tax has planned to introduce a new system to pay Income Tax in the cities of Delhi and Mumbai in October. Further, there is a plan to link 100 cities in the country in the 1st Phase of this plan.
Presently, the details of the taxpayer can be accessed only in their cities of residence. However, with the recently developed software, all IT offices will get linked. This will facilitate the taxpayer to pay his IT from anywhere throughout the country. Further, the details of the Taxpayer can also be accessed from anywhere.
This facility will also eliminate any malpractices or mal-operations to avoid paying IT.
The software for the above facility is ready. With this, there will be a facility to monitor all the IT cases in the country from any city, for example, Delhi.
Each taxpayer will be given a unique individual number. The IT office assessor will be able to monitor the IT status of the concerned taxpayer.
The notable point here is that as the assessor is monitoring the It payment details of the taxpayer through a number, he/she may not even know who the assessor is. Even in the case, more details are to be sought, the assessor cannot directly approach the taxpayer. The information will be passed on to the taxpayer only through the computer.
With the implementation of the above system, it is confidently expected that direct contacts will be totally avoided while there will be more transparency in the process.
