Today, the 18th September, Monday, Google has launched Tez, a mobile payment app here in India.

Google has stepped into the space of mobile payments in India, to start with. Tez will serve as a peer-to-peer money transfer application to which users can link their smartphones and the bank account to make payments at online and offline stores.

By using Tez, your bank balance will remain the same, and you can still gain interest out of its reserves. Payments are done directly from your bank account via Tez. With Tez, there is nothing to worry about reloading wallets, reads a company blog post.

Tez makes use of Unified Payments Interface and it can function with all major banks such as Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI, etc. Apart from this, Tez also supports the national banks that are on-board with UPI.

There is Tez shield on Tez app. It helps in detecting fraudulence, preventing app hacking and ensures user identity. It will function all through 24 * 7 and keeps your account safe without hacking of any kind.

All of the transactions are secured with the use of UPI PIN. A Google PIN or screen lock method like fingerprint secures the app. Whenever you need help, Tez support is available throughout the day with phone and chat support on all days.

On all mobile apps and websites where UPI payment option is accepted, Tez can be used. Furthermore, Google has rolled out a list of logos of all places where Tez payment option is accepted. This includes PVR Cinemas, Redbus, Dominos Pizza, DishTV, and Jet Airways.

Introductory offers
There are also some introductory offers like getting Tez Scratch Cards to grab Rs 1,000 in each and every transaction with which users can earn up to Rs 1 lakh weekly on Sundays. Thus, users will not have to hunt for coupon codes. When a user wins a reward, it would reflect in the bank account straight.

For business owners and shops, the Tez app can be used with their individual current account for getting digital payments. They will not be charged any fees for this, and the amount shall go directly into the bank account.

All merchants who have an individual account can get up to Rs 50,000 per month through UPI for which no fees shall be charged. When transactions are made beyond this, the merchants will be charged extra.
