New Neonatals for New Born Infants in Chennai

Every day many new born infants are in Chennai based hospitals managed by Corporation of chennai .the facilities includes for each and every units will be equipped with central oxygen supply, incubators and trained staff to handle health complication faced by newborns. this is been announced by health department of District administration.the hospitals and cares will e made of free of cost and which is to be implemented in obstetric care centers in Sanjeevarayanpet, Pulianthope, Ayanavaram, Vadapalani and Saidapet in the first phase. It would then be followed by Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar, Shenoy Nagar, Mir Sahibpet, Perumalpet and Santhome.

This new schemes and facilities were announced the corporation recorded 82,000 deliveries in the last one year within the corporation limits of which 22% were born in corporation-run hospitals. Out of 18,000 deliveries in corporation hospitals, of which 6,000 were cesarean deliveries. For such cases had to be taken a special care for welfare of both the mother and infant.

In general many pre-term babies born between 35-37 weeks suffer from underweight, respiratory diseases, infections, typhoid and nutrient deficiencies. such babies are to be given special care in the first 28 days which brings down child mortality rate the administration also provides employment to 64 nurses and 32 staff members for such cares.
