Tunnelling work of the Chennai Metro Rail Project complete

The Chennai Metro Rail Administration has informed that Metro tracks are to be laid between Chennai Mint - Washermanpet to Wimco Nagar. The tunnelling work covering a distance of 1.8 km from Mint to Korukkupet has been completed.
There will be an elevated corridor for the Metro train from Korukkupet to Wimco Nagar covering a distance of 7 km. The total distance of 9 km will have 2 underground stations and 6 elevated corridor stations.
The entire work is expected to be completed by 2019 and the Metro rail service will be started.
