The state health minister, C. Vijayabhaskar informed that 744 special doctors will be selected by the Medical Recruitment Board (MRB).
An exclusive Medical Recruitment Board for the state ministry/department of Health was set up in the state of Tamil Nadu for the 1st ever time in India.
MRB, since its formation, has been functioning smoothly, and excellently, by fulfilling its main responsibility of by recruiting the deserving candidates to fill up the vacancies in the various government hospitals and also when new recruitments are asked by the Department of Health.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanisamy distributed the appointment orders for the 5216 nurses selected by MRB on 13th July and 1013 Assistant Doctors on 13th September.
So far, 10790 doctors and 9706 nurses have been appointed for a total of 235171 employees.
Further, 744 special doctors are to be appointed. The announcement for this was released by MRB on 20th September. The applications must be sent before 10th October.
