Third India International Science fest to take place in Chennai

In Chennai, next month, the third International Science Festival is likely to be conducted, said Union Minister Harsh Vardhan. The first festival was held by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Science and Technology, and an organization linked to RSS – Vijnana Bharati. This four day festival is likely to receive top government scientists that is to be held between 13th and 16th October at IIT Chennai.
 
Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President will grace the valedictory session during the event, said Harsh Vardhan, the Minister of Environment and Forest and Science and Technology.
Science and Technology Ministers of Nepal, Afghanistan, Portugal and Bangladesh will jointly inaugurate the event.
 
Deep Ocean Research - a thematic session will be included in the festival. It is a science teachers workshop focusing on northeast. It also includes industry academia interactions and summits and science film festival.
 
Towards this project, a sum of Rs 10 crore will be spent, said a senior government official. The department of science and technology, department of biotechnology, and council of scientific and industrial research shall share the total cost. All these fall under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
