Aviation fuel rates go up by 6%, LPG costlier by Rs 1.50 a cylinder

Making the third straight increase in price since August 2017, on Sunday, the Jet fuel or ATF price is increased by sharp 6 percent, thus firming international rates.
 
With this, ATF or Aviation Turbine Fuel will be sold for Rs 53,045 per kiloliter (kl) in Delhi. This is Rs 3,025 per kl higher than the earlier rate that was Rs 50,020, says a notification about price hike by the Indian Oil Corp.
 
With this, it is third such price hike of ATF while the last of which was made on 1st September where 4 percent hike equivalent to Rs 1,910 per kl was made.
 
Further, the price of cooking gas was increased by Rs 1.50 per cylinder, abiding by the government decision to hike rates month on month so as to cut out subsidies by March month.
 
From Sunday, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder will cost Rs 488.68 in Delhi, whereas the same was Rs 487.17 earlier, said IOC. With effect from 1st of September, a hike in rate of Rs 7 per cylinder was imposed.
 
On 31st July, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced at the Lok Sabha that the government wants to increase price of subsidized cooking gas rates by Rs 4 per cylinder month on month so as to cut out all the subsidies by March 2018.
