Hanu Reddy Ongoles will be displaying the majestic Ongole breed of cattle on October 7th and 8th 2017, Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 6pm at SPP Gardens (Shiva Parvathi Pushpa Gardens) Maduravoyal, Chennai.
The Ongole breed is a world renowned breed. Ongole cattle are an indigenous breed of Andhra Pradesh. They are famous for both their bulls as well as cows. Traditionally, Ongole cattle have been raised by local farmers. These bulls are known for their toughness, rapid growth, natural tolerance to tropical heat and high resistance to disease. It was an early Indian breed of cattle to gain worldwide recognition.
Ongole bulls are one of the heaviest breeds. They weigh around 450 kg. Good sized bulls grow up to 65” to 70” in height and 72" in length. Normal colouring of skin is white with gray markings but some can be found completely white. Apart from beauty, this bull is intelligent, very tough and hardworking. It is because of these characteristics that the Ongole Bull is favoured among farmers locally and globally. Incidentally, there is a mythological belief that the Nandi of Lord Shiva comes from this breed.
The cows are known for their A2 milk which is sought after by the public for its unique properties.
This will be an opportunity for the public to learn, own and propagate the breed.

and hence easy to raise and enjoy.
