The central government has planned to quadruple the current speed of internet throughout the country.

While the central government is eager to encourage all proposals to the project of ‘Digital India’, other payment services like online payment are also on the rise.

However, there has been a persistent complaint that the internet speed in India is abysmally low as compared to the other countries.

So, the central government has now decided to quadruple the current speed of internet throughout the country. The secretary of the department of telecommunications, Aruna Sundararajan, informed that the minimum basic speed should be increased from the present 512 kB per second to 2 MB per second.

She further explained that 5G services are set to be introduced shortly. The immediate proposal of increasing the internet speed to 2 MB per second is just the basic idea and the maximum can be anywhere upwards.
