The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the environmental conditions are favourable to facilitate the onset of the Northeast Monsoon rainy season in the next 24 hours.
The director of the centre, S, Balachandran, explained that the high-humid easterly wind is blowing currently. This is a favourable condition for the onset of the Northeast Monsoon rainy season.
He explained that the present rain in the coastal areas can spread to other nearby regions. There are prospects of medium rain for 4 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
There may be intermittent rains in the Chennai city.
