PM visit to Chennai today - routes to be taken to avoid getting caught in traffic

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Chennai Metro city today (Tuesday, 6th November) participate on 75th anniversary celebration of Daily Thanthi newspaper.

Over 600 police staff has been deployed in the airport area for security.

The PM is on a 1-day visit (6th November) and will participate in the 75th anniversary celebration of Daily Thanthi newspaper at the Chennai University Centenary Hall and a marriage function.

With PM’s schedule, the security has been beefed up throughout the routes the PM would be travelling.

PM will participate in the 75th anniversary celebration of Daily Thanthi newspaper between 10.30 AM and 11.30 AM.

After this, the Prime Minister will proceed to attend a marriage function of the daughter of the IAS Officer, Somanathan, working in the Prime Minister’s Office. This programme is scheduled between 11.30 AM and 12.00 Noon.

The Prime Minister’s other schedules include a visit to meet the ailing former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK leader M. Karunanidhi at the Gopalapuram Residence at 12.30 PM. The PM will enquire about the health of the ailing DMK leader and then will proceed on the return trip to Delhi.

Later, the Prime Minister will leave for Delhi in a special flight from the INS Adyar Naval Base near the Napier Bridge.

As the topmost security is to be provided during the time spent by the PM in Chennai, security has been beefed up thoroughly and hence, a very heavy traffic congestion is expected in the routes PM would travel.

The traffic congestion is expected to be very heavy. Especially in the sections Airport -Marina Beach, Guindy Kathipara, Anna University, Adyar, and Santhome. So, if the persons who are planning to travel in these sections cn alter their travel plan accordingly, they can well avoid the traffic congestion.
