The central government has declared that the charges at the tollgates will be collected only in digital mode from 1st December.
The central Road transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, explained that it is an established fact that corruption and illegal transactions will come down when cashless transactions are implemented. Considering this important aspect, the digital collection of tollgate charges in all tollgates throughout the country will be implemented from 1st December.
Once the digital transaction is implemented, the long line of vehicles and waiting time in the tollgates will be avoided. With this implementation, the central government will earn a daily revenue of Rs. 1 Crores.
It is further expected that there will be an increase of another 10% effective from next March.
