Starting from January 2018, Japan would simplify its visa rules for Indians. As a move to facilitate tourists and businessmen, Japan shall provide multiple-entry-visa for those intending for short stay in the country.
The Japanese Embassy further states that in addition to simplifying the visa application process, the scope for eligible applicants will also be widened.
With the visa application processes being simplified, in case of multiple-entry-visa application, there will be exemption for the applicant’s employment certificate and explanation letter mentioning the reason for applying visa.
So, primarily, the only 3 documents needed for applicants seeking multiple-entry-visa are
- Passport visa application form with photo affixed
- Necessary papers to affirm the financial abilities of applicant
- Needed documents that are evident of the applicant’s affiliation to particular enterprises
For applicants who hold records of travel to Japan for two times or more in the past one year, the embassy would provide multiple entry visas of 5-year validity at the max, and 90 days of maximum stay. Further, the embassy sources say it is enough if they submit only the visa application form and passport.
With these relaxations, the people-to-people development between Japan and India would probably improve, as Indian tourists will find it even more convenient, and there will be repeated visitors.
