Northeast Monsoon has once again revived over some parts of Tamil Nadu. Many parts of the state have received light to moderate rains particularly the coastal stations. Chennai also received light rains in the past day. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday, Vellore witnessed rain to the tune of 18.4 mm, Karaikal 11.2 mm, Tondi 8.5 mm, Nagapattinam 6 mm, Coonoor 6.8 mm and Chennai 0.3 mm of rain.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka. Due to its influence light to moderate rains will continue over many parts of Tamil Nadu for the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, the weather will become almost dry however sky will remain partly cloudy over the coastal areas and light rain at isolated places cannot be ruled out. It is anticipated that a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the Andaman Sea in the next 24 to 48 hours which will gradually move towards Tamil Nadu coast but rains will not increase immediately.

We expect moderate showers with few heavy spells to occur over Tamil Nadu including Chennai around November 27 or 28. Presently the temperatures are ranging between 30°C- 33°C. It is expected that by the end of the month there will be a fall of 2°C to 3°C. The weather conditions are likely to remain warm and humid presently but it will become comfortable by the end of the month as the rain intensity is likely to increase.
