Posted on: 13/Dec/2017 7:15:45 PM
Weather across Tamil Nadu has remained almost dry from the past few days. Though, isolated rains occurred at a few places. There was no significant weather activity because Northeast Monsoon remained weak over the state. As per Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains over the interior parts of Tamil Nadu is expected during next 24 hours.

Thereafter, scattered rains will commence over the southern districts of the state as well. Whereas, north and north coastal stations would remain dry including Chennai. These rains will be attributed to a trough which is extending from Madhya Maharashtra up to Interior Tamil Nadu across south interior Karnataka.

However, Chennaiites would witness light to moderate rains on December 19 or 20. Until then, the weather over the capital will remain dry. It is expected that humid and warm weather will persist over the coastal stations. Meanwhile, days will be warm and nights will be comfortable in remaining parts of the state. The maximum temperatures range in lower 30°C and minimums in lower 20°C.

During the next 24 hours, rain will occur over places such as Udhagamandalam, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Madurai, and Salem.

After 24 to 48 hours, we expect rains over Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, and Rameswaram. Meanwhile, weather across Chennai, Puducherry, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Karur and Cuddalore will remain dry.
