WhatsApp not to work on these devices anymore

So as the New Year is all set to begin, it is likely that WhatsApp will stop functioning on several mobile platforms. The devices functioning on Windows Phone 8.0, BlackBerry OS, and Blackberry 10 shall not have WhatsApp starting from 31st December.

According to a WhatsApp blog post, it is stated that in phones including Windows phone 8.0, Blackberry OS, BlackBerry 10 and other older platforms, the mobile app shall not be used after 31st December 2017.

It was in June that WhatsApp started extending support for either of the platforms. Back then, it said it will withdraw services for Nokia S40 on 31st December 2018 and on other Android phones that are 2.3.7 and beyond starting from 1st February 2020. On 30th June 2017, Symbian S60 phones stopped supporting the mobile app. There will be no furthermore extension of usage deadline for Windows and BlackBerry phones. The mobile app shall stop being functional with this year.

There were a few new features introduced on the beta version of WhatsApp all of which will pave way for a better WhatsApp version of the app on the whole.

Right while on a Video call, one will be able to utilize the PiP feature to do multitasking. There is also an icon newly introduced on the app that will enable the user to make video calls possible. On clicking the icon, a new window will get opened in a picture in picture mode. This video window can also be altered in size.
