New year function: Chennai Police to set up 176 checking booths

The Police Department has announced that 3500 Police personnel will be deployed for safety measures on the occasion of the New Year.
176 checking booths will be set up throughout the Chennai Metro City.
Some traffic changes will be carried out in the Chennai Marina and Besant Nagar beach roads.
All the flyovers except the Anna flyover and the Kathipara flyover will be blocked for traffic.
