1. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire 2017



The newly re-modeled Swift Dzire from Maruti Suzuki had a huge market immediately after its release in 2017, approximately 1.5 lakh units in the first six months. 2. Hyundai Verna



Hyundai Verna fifth generation emerged as an answer for the dominant competitors like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City. This new installation of Verna was introduced by the Korean Automobile giant by the month of August with a latest developed K2 platform with petrol engine power of 118ps and diesel engine power of 121ps. It came with the 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engine options. The transmission power had a six-speed manual and also automatic transaction option.

3. Tata Tigor



Tata Tigor played a major contender in 2017 compact sporty sedan category of the Indian Automobile Market. In accordance with the Cost, Look and feel, it heavily influenced the market as an alternate option for Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Hyundai Xcent. It came with 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine with 85ps power and 1.05 litre Revotorq Diesel engine delivering 70ps power. The model created a great buzz in the media when an electric iteration of the car was released by the Tata Motors and it is launched only for the government use.

4. Maruti Suzuki Ignis



The initial release of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis in the month of January had the tall boy design again and by the month of August it also incorporated a automatic gear shift option targeting the younger population of the Indian Market that expects high-tech design and features. 5. Tata Nexon



Tata Motors introduced this in the latter half of 2017 for the compact SUV market with 1.2 litre turbo charges Revotron petrol engine. It also has a diesel engine option of 1.5 litre turbo charged Revotorq. Nexon has a six speed manual transmission and a special feature of three driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. Tata Motors are in plans to introduce auto gear option with this car by the year 2018.

6. Tata Hexa



Tata Hexa, a SUV model powered with an advances 2.2 litre Varicor 400 diesel engine, 156ps power, targeted the upper middle class category looking for a big sized car on an average budget of 12 lakh pricing. This car is launched in the month of January and was coupled with a 6-speed G85 transmission with high torque delivery.

7. Ford EcoSport



Ford India re-modeled both the exterior and interior look of the new EcoSport with a brand new Petrol engine. This car has two options of a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine and the new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine with a five speed manual transmission. One of the primary changes in this model is the new petrol motor with a six speed torque converter automatic unit along with Paddle Shift and Hill launch Assist.

8. Jeep Compass



Jeep’s first SUV model in India has a price tier category of 14 lakh to 15 lakh option according to the variant options. Jeep Compass has a 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo Petrol and 2.0-litre MultiJet Turbo Diesel for 173PS and 350Nm. This car has a six-speed manual transmission option and also a seven-speed DDCT automatic transmission as well. There are two wheel and four wheel options for the diesel engine.

9. Renault Captur



Renault, the French Automobile giant introduced the premium SUV model of their latest launch Captur. It is priced between Rs 9.99-11.69 lakh category with 1.5 litre H4K petrol engine and a 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine options. The petrol engine has a 104hp of power with a 5 speed gear box. It will be coupled with a six speed transmission as well.

10. Honda WR-V



Honda WR-V is a premium SUV launch of the Honda in the year 2017 with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit embedded with 99hp and 200Nm of torque and a 6-speed transmission set-up. The petrol mill is a 1.2-litre i-VTEC delivering up to 90hp or 110 Nm of torque, and it comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.
