Taiwan-based Maxxis Group, a premium quality tyre manufacturer, today extended its social commitment by organizing a painting competition in Sanand, Gujarat. 15 schools were selected from the nearby villages across Sanand for the competition. This initiative was undertaken in order to build an extensive long term relationship with the communities.
Unparalleled creativity was at display in the painting competition in which students canvassed their innovative ideas towards realising the essence of the theme ‘Naye Vikas ki Oar’. The theme depicted how the students envision Gujarat in the near future.
The objective was to contribute in the development of the villages across Sanand. The activity will also showcase the larger development which has been taking place around Sanand. This social connect with the schools and students from the villages will bring a positive change in their lives and in their communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jia-Ciao Liou, Commercial head and spokesperson, said, “We are committed towards ‘Treading New Grounds’. It is very important for us to look at the future while engaging with the communities at the grass root level. We see the future that resides in the children of these communities. Engagement is what we value the most and we strongly believe that constructive engagement with the community will play a huge role in building a sustainable progressive future for one and all”.
The aim of the event was to encourage the creative spirit amongst the students and infuse a taste for fine arts in them. Each participant was provided with giveaways from Maxxis. Maxxis expects a total of 1000 plus students of different schools to exhibit their creative talents in the competition which will end on Wednesday, 10th January, 2018.
Among them, 36 paintings will be shortlisted for the final selection round. Winners of the competition and their families will be felicitated at the inauguration ceremony of Maxxis tyre plant. All the paintings will be later formed into an installation and will be showcased at the Maxxis tyre plant in Sanand.
Mr. Cheng-Yao Liao, President, Maxxis India, said, “To establish a long term relationship with the community and to connect at a deeper level, we must engage with children and show the world how they envision the future of Gujarat.”
To extend their supportive hands, Maxxis will also donate RO water purifiers in all of the 15 schools participating in the competition; it is a step towards bringing a positive change in the lives of the community.
