Exchanging currencies at the airport metro station in Chennai would soon become reality. This would be of superb advantage for the commuters. It is now confirmed that from the month of February commuters would be able to buy foreign exchange at the counter that would soon be set up by the CMRL or Chennai Metro Rail Limited.
Now it is said that a counter would be set up opposite to the ticket counter at the metro station leading to the airport. As a result of this counter commuters going inside or coming out of the station would be able to exchange their money easily.
Putting up of the structure for the counter is going on currently and soon counter would be started. This was confirmed by a representative from the agency that is involved in this work.
It is known that there are as many as 6 foreign exchange counters near the entry point at the international terminal plus one counter at the security area.
It is important to note that Chennai international airport was opened in the year 1910 and is presently regarded as fourth busiest airport in India. This international airport of Chennai in the fiscal year 2016-17 handled as many as 18.3 million passengers.
