This idea of planting trees to absorb pollution is superb in Coimbatore

Present in the state of Tamil Nadu the city of Coimbatore is the second biggest city in after Chennai and is famous for the presence of many industrial units. It is known that the pollution level is very high in this Coimbatore and efforts are being taken to reduce this problem.

An associate professor of Silviculture professor Mr. Prasanthirajan expressed his thoughts and said Coimbatore is becoming worse than before and this is a cause of concern for the people living there.

He also threw light about the usage of mobile ambient air quality monitor that is used to collect the levels of pollution in different parts of the city. He also spoke about how for every pollutant specific type of tree could be planted and how it could be beneficial.

Mr. Balasubramanian who is the professor and head of silviculture department, spoke about how the plating of trees would absorb pollutants. He further added that there is a possibility of joining hands with the city corporation and under the smart city project the saplings could be planted.

According to Mr. Prasanthrajan , planting of more trees in the polluted locality would reduce the pollutant levels in that place and it would be superb. In this regard trees were planted at the forest college campus and thee trees absorbed pollutants. He further added that for further planting of these trees to absorb pollutants recommendations to civic body would be done.

It is now revealed by an official that bio-remedies are the best because the climate of Coimbatore has changed. It is also said that as many as 30 air quality monitors were employed in the city and data were got. One important piece of information is that bio-remedies for water and air pollution inside the city limits have been going on by the researchers.
