Coonoor is superb place in the state of Tamil Nadu with its green environment coupled with nice climate and is present at a height of 1850metre above the sea level. There are as many as 30 wards in this Coonoor with a population of around 50,000.

The news is presently people pay Rs 10 for one kudam or can of water here. Last year it rained well in this place and this led to filling up of the water bodies in the district of Nilgris. It must be noted that in Coonoor, Rallia dam, Gymkana dam etc became full with water. Distribution of drinking water was done effectively in this place.

It is now said that for the upcoming summer season drinking water is important and is now distributed once in 15 days here.

A well present in the Coonoor – Metupalayam road has grabbed the attention of many.  Few people take water from this well and supply water to the tea shops plus houses and hotels present in this place.

It is revealed that one kudam or can of water is now cost Rs 10 and people find it difficult to shell out their money. It is now said that people have asked the ‘Emerald Water Supply Scheme’ to come into force so that they would be benefitted hugely.
