New software to safeguard bank account and Aadhar card details

Anna University is set to introduce a new software which will safeguard the details of the Bank Accounts and Aadhar Cards. A special Research Centre is scheduled to be set up in the University on 1st February.

Of late, there has been an increasing trend of more digital applications in place of paper-based transactions. The offices and the functions in banks are getting entirely digitalized.

Further, in order to prevent duplicity with fake addresses or duplicate addresses, etc., Aadhar card has been brought in. The bank savings accounts, PAN cards, Family ration cards, school students’ data, and the details of the personal data of all public and private sector employees are linked through Aadhar cards.

These data are safeguarded in a secure fashion through the digital format under the National Information System. However, it is the experience that the personal bank details and personal data sometimes get leaked.

In order to encounter this problem, university and college students are engaged in research. Accordingly, the Anna University Engineering College students are set to introduce a new software for the digital safety aspect.

Anna University has entered into an agreement with Cognizant technologies for this purpose. As per this, under the control of the department of the information technology of Anna University, an Information Safety research Centre is being set up at a cost of Rs. 30 Lakhs.

The centre is dedicated to developing the latest technology and associates such as software is set to be opened on 1st February. The Centre for University-Industry Collaboration – CUIC – is organizing the setting up of this research centre.
