The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that all the Regional Transport Offices (RTO) will function today (Saturday, 3rd February) to facilitate the women to apply for learner`s driving license in order to apply for the Amma 2-wheeler scheme.
The Tamil Nadu State Government has announced the ‘Amma 2-wheeler’ scheme for the working women. The free application forms for this scheme are distributed from the offices of the district collector, corporation offices, Panchayat offices, and Taluk offices.
The filled applications must be submitted to the above offices before 5th February. The women who apply must possess either driver’s licence’ or learner’s driving licence. This has led to swarming large crowds in all the RTOs.
In this situation, the state government has issued the report yesterday:
`A very large number of women are visiting the RTOs to apply for the for the Amma 2-wheeler scheme. Considering this, in order to facilitate these women to apply for driver’s learning licence, all RTOs will function today (Saturday, 3rd February). Further, apart from the issue of learner’s driving licence, all the other activities will not function in RTOs on this day.`
