Achievers from different walks of life speak at TEDxGLIMChennai

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai hosted its second edition of TEDxGLIMChennai at its ECR Campus recently. Under the theme – ‘BE’, TEDxGLIMChennai featured local voices from diverse backgrounds who shared ideas and discussed ways to shape tomorrow’s landscape.
TEDx is an independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, and organized by community volunteers that aims at creating dialogue as well as giving people a forum to share their passions, ideas and experiences. The current edition of the event was sponsored by Vaata SMART Ltd.
The theme of TEDxGLIMChennai was ‘BE’ - “The verb “Be” is one of the most powerful and irregular non-defective verb in the English language. The word carries a lot of meaning when used in different ways - as an intransitive verb, auxiliary verb and has a prefix as well. The power of this verb lent itself to be the reason why this was chosen as the theme of TEDxGLIMChennai event.
The organizer of TEDxGLIMChennai, Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman, Associate Dean – Great Lakes, Chennai, said, “ Great Lakes hosted the first edition of TEDxGLIMChennai last year on the same date, which went on to become one of the most successful TEDx show ever. This year too, the team pulled off a great effort and lined up extraordinary set of speakers who not only shared diversity of ideas and stories on the stage but also created an experience that inspired everyone. TEDxGLIMChennai will continue to work harder and spread more positivity in the next edition as well.”
