It is known that vehicles move at great speeds on the highways inspite of many warnings. These high speeding vehicles causes many accidents and people lose their lives in these accidents. It is now revealed that in the three highways stretches like Poonnamallee-Vellore, Madurai-Villupuram and Salem-Krishnagiri, vehicle tracking and speed enforcement device would be making its presence felt soon.
KELTRON or Kerala State Electronics development Corporation Limited is involved in this project work of installing the above mentioned device.
One main advantage of this amazing device is vehicle registration number of the speeding vehicles would be traced and then an e-challan for violating the traffic rules would be sent to their houses.
The news is in another two months of time this device would soon be able to do its work and catch those vehicles that are speeding on the three above mentioned highway stretches. An amount of Rs 98 crores would be spent on this device.
According to the data given by Union road transport ministry, on these three stretches more accidents take place when compared to the states average and this is really shocking. Krishnagiri highway that connects Chennai and Bengaluru is considered unsafe as many as 9 people get killed per every km. Recently State Road Safety council gave its approval for KELTRONs proposal is known.
