The state government department of school education has organized for a free Wi-Fi facility through a private agency in 318 government schools in 4 districts in the state including Chennai and Coimbatore.
The state minister for school education, K. A. Sengottaiyan, informed that ACT Fibernet, has come forward to has come forward with an offer to set up free Wi-Fi facility in government schools.
Accordingly, a free Wi-Fi facility will be set up in 312 government schools in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, and Coimbatore. With this facility, the students can access all information regarding the subjects. lessons, and general knowledge.
The setting up of free Wi-Fi facility in the 4 districts is the 1st Phase of this project. Subsequently, it will be extended to all other districts.
As for the new syllabus, all the related activities would be completed before the end of February. The textbooks of the revised syllabus for all subjects will be ready by the last week of March or the 1st week of April.
In the 1st Phase, the syllabus will be implemented for 4 classes, 1st, 6th, 9th, and 11th Standards in the academic year 2018-19.
In the subsequent year, the new syllabus will be introduced in the next Phase for all other classes. The new syllabus will be of a super quality and features even exceeding the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and will be matching international standards.
Presently, the system of teaching adopting robotics technology is becoming increasingly popular.
In this set –up, the central government has given the approval to set up the latest laboratories with the latest equipment and technology
This plan will be implemented in 96 schools in a joint effort by the state government and the private agencies.
Funds of Rs. 20 Lakhs to Rs. 25 Lakhs will be reserved for each school. Plans are afoot in the near future to extend this latest lab facility in 500 schools.
