Tomorrow (Saturday, 24th February) is the last day for administering Vitamin A liquid to the children under 5 years of age.
Vitamin A is an essential ingredient in the natural body and brain growth of the children aged from 6 months to 5 years. Any deficiency in Vitamin A may lead to eyesight deficiency and affected growth. In order to prevent this, the government provides administration of Vitamin A liquid to the children of above age group in 2 doses.
The administration of the 1st dose of Vitamin A liquid commenced on 1st February. It was planned to administer vitamin A liquid to 60 Lakh children up to 24th February.
So far, 50 Lakh children have been administered with Vitamin A liquid. The Health Department officials informed that by the last day tomorrow, all the balance children will be administered with the dose.
