Late popular actress Sridevi was introduced by former TN CM Kamarajar

Popular and legendary film actress Sridevi, who passed away recently, was introduced by the former Chief Minister and the veteran Congress leader, Kamarajar.

Sridevi’s father Ayyappan owned a house in Chennai CIT Colony. Ayyappan was an ardent Congress party enthusiast and used to visit the residence of the then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Kamarajar in Chennai T.Nagar Thirumalai Pillai Road

Ayyappan took his 4-year-old daughter once while visiting Kamarajar. Kamarajar was immediately impressed with the pretty, mischievous, and active young Sridevi – he immediately referred this to Kavignar Kannadasan who was with him at that time suggesting the girl might be given a chance to act in films. Kaandasan agreed immediately.

The legendary lyricist Kannadasan immediately went to Sandow Chinnappa Devar, a film producer and referred regarding Sridevi.

Immediately, Sridevi was called to the studios and make-up tests were conducted. On successful trial, Sridevi was immediately enrolled to act in the role of Young Lord Muruga in the film ‘Thunaivan’,
