The Former Vice President of Tata Steel, Mr. Balasubramanain Muthuraman joined the Company in 1966 after finishing his graduation from IIT Madras. His date of birth, 26 September 1944 and was brought up in Tamil Nadu, India. Mr. B. Muthuraman is a Metallurgical Engineer and then followed by a M.B.A Degree from XLRI Jamshedpur. Mr. B. Muthuraman joined the Tata Steel as a Trainee Engineer where his sincerity and hard work made the Company to retain his stable progression within the group.
Tata Steel is one of the World’s leading Steel Manufacturer and there is no doubt that Mr. B. Muthuraman played a major role in escalating the company from the inside player to a massive global determiner of Steel Business.
Mr. B. Muthuraman is an alumnus of General Management Program GMP in CEDEP, a European Center for Executive Development. His education and experience made him a dual player in the Steel business, in Management as well as the Technological aspects of Steel Manufacturing.
He retired at the age of 70, as per norms laid out by the Tata Group. Initially he worked under the Department of Iron making and Engineering for ten years. Then he was promoted to the managerial department, after twenty long years of experience he was promoted as a Vice President of the Company.
Mr. B. Muthuraman was one of the board member of the company and retire at the age of 70 after 48 years of long journey in Tata Steel. For his wide knowledge and progressing the Iron and Steel Manufacturing concern into one of the player among the other giants of the World, Indian Government honored him the Padma Bhushan award in the year 2012.
On the day of his retirement he mentioned his long journey as a huge pleasure and honor. He quoted the Tata Steel as an “Open Organization” providing immense freedom in operation and decision making for the well-being of the Company.
