South India
Dry and hot weather will continue over most parts of South India till March 8. On March 9 – 11 isolated rain activities are possible over South Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala. Andaman and Nicobar Islands may also receive scattered rains from March 9-11.
Northwest India
Isolated light rain is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on March 5. Thereafter, the weather will become dry. Day temperatures are expected to rise by 2°C to 3°C in next 2 - 3 days. Another Western Disturbance is expected around March 8 and March 9. However, weather of northwestern plains including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan will remain dry during this time.
Central India
Scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till March 5. Thereafter, weather will become dry. Isolated thundery activities along with light rain are expected over Southeast Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh on March 7 and March 8. On March 8 and 9, isolated rain activities are also possible over some parts of Vidarbha. Weather of remaining parts of Central India, including Gujarat will remain dry. Maximum and minimum temperatures of most parts will remain above normal throughout the period.
East and Northeast India
Scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over Jharkhand, parts of Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, few central districts of West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland on March 5. Intensity will reduce over East India on March 6. However, on March 7, isolated light rain will be seen over East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Thereafter, weather will remain dry over entire East and Northeast India. Temperatures would continue to witness above normal temperatures and heat wave like conditions are expected to continue at isolated places for next 2 - 3 days.
