Here comes the good news for the residents of Chennai. It is now said that this coming summer months between April and June would be much cooler or normal.

This was as per the seasons forecast that was released by the IMD or Indian Meteorological Department. The weather this summer would be cooler when compared to the weather that was present last year. The maximum temperature would dip 0.4 degrees below the normal. Usually the city of Chennai records temperature of 34.5 degrees in the month of April is known.

The average maximum temperature in Chennai would be 34.4 degree Celsius in this month of April and this was as per the forecast predicted by IMD.

In the month of April in the year 2017, the highest temperature recorded was 39.7 degree Celsius and 42.8 degree Celsius was the all time highest recorded in April. It is revealed that the average minimum temperatures in the month of April would be 27 degree Celsius. In the month of April in 2017 the minimum temperature touched 26.3 degrees is known.

The months of May and June are usually tough for the residents of Chennai because during these two months the heat levels would be very high. The average maximum temperature in these two months would be below 37 degree Celsius. Just before the sunrise the minimum temperature recorded is likely to be 0.30 degrees above the normal. The nights during the summer might be warmer than usual.

It is important to mention here that on Monday 2nd April 2018, 33.1 degree Celsius was the maximum temperature and 27.8 was the minimum temperature. The temperature during the night increased because heat that was reflected by the earth’s surface was not able to escape into space due to the cloud cover that was present.

Incoming solar radiation was blocked by the daytime cloud cover and that resulted in decrease in the maximum temperatures. In this summer the mean temperature of Chennai would be 0.05 degree above the normal. The north and north-western parts like Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh would be a degree hotter than usual in this summer.
