The price of jasmine flower has shot up from Rs. 50 per kg to Rs. 200 per kg on occasion of the Tamil New Year Day and also tomorrow being a New Moon Day.
The yield of jasmine will be down during the months of November and December. The arrival quantity regularly increases during the summer season.
As there were no auspicious days or festivals last week, jasmine was sold at Rs. 50 per kg. As today is the occasion of the Tamil New Year’s Day and tomorrow (Sunday, 15th April) being a New Moon Day, the price of jasmine has shot up to exceed Rs. 200 per kg.
As the season of successive festivals has started, the price of jasmine will continue to be on the costlier side.
