Agni Nakshatram commences today

The peak of the summer season, known as kathiri veyil or agni nakshatram commences today (Friday, 4th May). Because of this, an ultra-scorching summer is to be experienced in Tamil Nadu until 28th May.

Meanwhile, as per the Hindu Almanac, the Sun starts travelling with the star of Bharani today, towards the star Kiruthigai and this marks the start of Agni nakshatram.

During this period, the sun’s rays fall directly on the planet earth. So the impact of the heat intensity will be even more scorching. Agni nakshatram concludes on 28th May and these 24 days will be of intense heat.

The officials of the weather department explained in this regard that in the next 24 hours, the temperature will be higher by 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit above the normal in the districts of Thiruvallur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Karur, Perambalaur, Madurai, and Tirunelveli Because of this, there are prospects of the maximum temperature of 108 Degrees Fahrenheit being recorded.

There are prospects of strong winds and rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours.
