The inauguration of a new park in Avadi held on Tuesday, named as Paruthipattu Park with a total widespread area of 1.8 acres. This project was completed at a cost of Rs 2 Crore. The opening was done by the Tamil Nadu municipal administration, rural development and special projects minister, S P Velumani.
The park is exactly located on the Avadi-Poonamalle high road and it was raised from the funds acquired through AMRUT scheme of the central government.
Main features of the park
There is a 647 meter length sidewalk for walkers and joggers. The park is built along with three gym equipment for basic exercises and also a children’s play area.
The park is well flourished with fauna and flora of various species of trees and plants. Lots of seating places with special light installations done for clear visibility after sunset.
The Corporation is in the process of building a modern toilet inside the park. About 500 people can be accommodated into the park’s premises at a given time.
The local residences have multiple plans to engage and form associations conducting various health and wellness programs such as walking, yoga and meditation in the park.
