Underground tracks of Anna Salai metro lines nearing completion

According to the latest reports of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) the track laying works in underground metro stations of Anna Salai are almost nearing the completion and soon to be opened for public use.

CMRL had given out the tenders for final construction of track works between AG-DMS to Thousand Lights. By the end of December 2018 the remaining track section in Phase-1 of the metro line between Washermenpet and AG-DMS will be completed and the 10 Km stretch connects the line to other hubs of the metro.

Now after the track laying works are nearing the final stages, the CMRL is looking for vendors to take care of the final works on the downline for a stretch of 1.7 Km. Trial run between Chennai Central and Government Estate will begin on the month of September said one of the officials of CMRL. Station layout in these stretches along with entry structure with flood protection ideations are in a full swing nearing the end point.

In the stretch of Washermenpet and Central Metro, the civil and track laying works are completed already and at present the signal installations and overall assembly of security systems are in the final phases of completion.
