As the waves are turbulent in the southern coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has warned that fishermen must not venture into the sea.
As the southwest monsoon seasonal wind is blowing quite strongly from the Arabian Sea, the waves have been turbulent in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
There are prospects of monsoon seasonal winds blowing at 50 kmph in the south Tamil Nadu coastal areas and at 45 kmph in the northern Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coastal areas. Due to the strong winds, there are prospects of the coastal waves in the region from Kulachal to Keezhakkarai, there are prospects of the sea waves swelling up to a height of 3.5 metres. So, the fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea.
Due to the southwest monsoon seasonal wind and the thermal convection, there are prospects of rain with thunder in the next 2 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai Metro City will remain generally cloudy. There are prospects of formation of thunderclouds in a few places in the evening or night sessions.
