The Dean of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Mahimai Raja, informed that there are prospects of all the candidates who applied for joining the agricultural courses to participate in the counselling sessions.
There are 14 member colleges and 26 joint colleges functioning under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. 12 different graduate courses are being offered in these colleges. For the current academic year, the online application for the graduate courses commenced on 18th May and concluded on 17th June.
38682 candidates have applied for the available 3422 seats. Out of this, only 32561 applications have been received in full form and so accepted. The rank or merit list would be released on 22nd June and online counselling sessions are scheduled from 8th July.
The Dean of the university explained that many candidates have not read the guidebook given along with the application properly. So, many candidates have committed mistakes while filling up the applications. There are records where even the name and gender have been entered wrongly. The applications must be filled by the concerned candidate only. One should not entrust this to the computer centres where it is likely that errors occur. Currently, the process of correcting the wrongly filled applications is in process. There are good prospects that all the applicants may participate in the counselling session.
The counselling is proposed to be conducted on the basis of 5 candidates for every single seat (5:1). There is a provision to change the course subject as well s the college.
