On the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21st June 2018, the parks, yoga studios and metro stations in Chennai was busy with many people doing yoga. This attracted the attention of many and was spoken in high esteem. Indian prime minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, grabbed many eyeballs when he practised yoga in Dehradun based Forest Research Institute campus is known.
At the event to commemorate the 4th International Yoga Day, Indian Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi gave his speech. He spoke about how yoga is the biggest unifying force in the world and how yoga does superbly in healing.
In association with a yoga institute Suthaveli Sabhai, Chennai metro rail would be conducting a yoga camp from today 22nd June till 24th June 2018.
It is worthy to mention that the morning sessions would be held at 6am in metro stations belonging to Alandur, Saidapet, Vadpalani and Thirumangalam. In the evening at 630 pm yoga sessions would be held in metro stations belonging to Egmore, AG-DMS, Anna Nagar tower and Shenoy Nagar etc. A free yoga camp is conducted by Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram or KYM for all.
It is known that IIT Madras has been doing sensationally in producing many top class students for many years. This IITM made many eyes turn when it conducted a ‘Yogathon’ and the people who took part were tested for endurance and durability plus they were quizzed on yoga benefits and asanas benefits. A yoga instructor Katyayani Reddy played her part when she spoke about ‘Yoga and Endocrine system’.
