In our body all parts from head to toe are very important and these parts play important roles in our activities. We often care so much for our face and body but do not care much for our feet. This is really a pathetic attitude towards our feet. This results in many issues like cracks and dry feet etc. Proper care for our feet is important so that the crack heels could be prevented. Not many of us know that cracked heels could also result in inflammation plus swelling, bleeding etc. Sometimes deep cracks develop in our feet and these are called fissures. The person having these fissures would not be able to walk easily.
There are few reasons for dry and cracked feet and they are
Dehydration:
It is essential that we must consume enough water every day so that we stay hydrated. It must be noted that due to dehydration issues like fatigue, metabolism, dryness in feet occurs. Rough skin causes cracks in heels.
Fungal infection:
It is important that we must clean our feet regularly so that dirt, bacteria, fungus are avoided. Hence fungal infection could also be avoided. This fungal infection is responsible for dryness in feet and cracked heels.
Persistent perspiration:
Persistent perspiration in feet is present on those who do workouts. This causes moisture to be reduced from the feet. Peeling of our skin takes place.
Wearing open backed shoes:
Wearing sandals and flips flops could also lead to this dry feet issue in us. The fat on the heal present in open backed shoes expands sideways and this increases the pressure on the heel resulting in many cracks.
Medications:
Many of us take antihistamines or diuretics for our issues and this could also result in dry feet in us. It is said that by moisturizing our feet with oil based moisturizer could prevent further drying.
Eczema:
It is a skin condition where patches of skin become rough and inflamed with blisters. The skin turns dull and dry. This skin condition could happen to any person any time regardless of their age.
Pressure on feet:
Dry or cracked feet could also be due to prolonged standing on the hard floors. The sweat glands in our feet get destroyed when we stand in one spot leading to dry and cracked feet. Pressure in feet could also be due to excess body weights and wearing padded shoes would be good as increased pressure on the normal fat pad makes it expand sideways creating feet cracks.
Sunburns:
This is also one cause for dry feet in us and sunburns results from over exposure to sunlight. The sunburns could cause our skin to turn dull and dry apart from causing redness and pain. Applying sunscreen would be beneficial.
