During Lunar eclipse tomorrow, Tirupathi temple corridors closed for 11 hours

On the occasion of Lunar Eclipse tomorrow (Friday, 27th July), the corridors of the Tirupathi temple will remain closed for 11 hours. Lunar eclipse commences at 11.54 PM on Friday and concludes at 3.49 AM early morning the next day (Saturday, 28th July). During this period, the temple corridors at the Tirupathi temple will be closed from 5.00 PM tomorrow (Friday, 27th July) to 4.15 AM on Saturday, 28th July).

Later, the temple corridors will be opened at 4.15 AM on 28th July with Suprabatha Seva while the temple premises are cleaned and special poojas will be performed. After his, Thomaalai Sevai, Panchangam-reading Sevai, and Archana will be performed only with the temple priests when no devotees will be allowed in.

Subsequently, the devotees will be allowed for the Free Darshan from 7.00 AM onwards.

Due to the occasion of the lunar eclipse tomorrow, regularly scheduled daily events such as Kalyana Utsavam, Oonjal Sevai, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasantha Utsavam, and Sahasra Deepa Alankara Sevai were all cancelled by the TTD authorities. Besides, the Garuda Seva scheduled for the occasion of the full moon (pournami) every month also stands cancelled. The Anna Prasadam Hall will also remain closed from 5.00 PM on 27th July to 9.00 AM on 28th July.

Apart from this, the distribution of prasadams will not be done for the devotees at various locations like the Vaikundam waiting complex, employees’ canteen, Padmavathi Guest House, and the Lord Venkateswara Rest Room.

Just for the facility of the devotees, arrangements have been made to distribute 20000 packets of tamarind rice and tomato rice on behalf of TTD (Thirumalai Tirupathi Devasthanam Board) from 3.00 PM tomorrow to 5.00 PM.

It was further informed that arrangements have been made to distribute these food packets at Vaikundam Waiting Complex 1 and 2, and Nadha Neeranjana Stage for the devotees.
