The city witnessed some mild drizzles and sweeping winds last week attributed to the effects of western winds getting stronger. Light showers in Chennai gave a big relief cooling out the entire heated system of the city. Reports suggest the rains may continue to pour in Chennai and other nearby districts like Puducherry, Cuddalore and Villupuram.

According to the weather report from the Meteorological Department the upcoming days will have normal warm conditions in daytime and may shift to rain zone along with few thunderstorms in the evening.

In the city Nungambakkam recorded a rainfall of 3.3mm and Meenambakkam with 10 mm of rainfall. Apart from Chennai zones Nagapattinam and Valparai recorded 3 cm of rainfall. The pouring will likely to extend for another two to three days in the above mentioned districts of Tamil Nadu.
